On February 17, 2008, Kosovo adopted the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government Assembly of Kosovo and declared its independence from Serbia.
This is history!
(it makes me think back to what it must have been like when the United States claimed independence from England.)
Of
course Serbia is not happy with this and today, February 21, attacked
the United States Embassy, setting it on fire. As far as what I've
heard from news reports no one was in the embassy. Why attack the
United States Embassy? Because we were one of the first to recognize Kosovo's independence.
